Robert Pearce Briscoe was born February 19, 1897. He served as Staff Officer, U.S. Fleet, from 1944 to 1945, and was promoted to rear admiral in April 1945. Admiral Joseph James "Jocko" Clark, USN (November 12, 1893 – July 13, 1971) was an admiral in the United States Navy, who commanded aircraft carriers during World War II.
